Mamma Musings- Tesia Fernandez

Today's musings are from a beautiful pup mamma from my all time favourite place, Hawaii. Tesia is an artist, taking inspiration from the world around her. Shes such a light in this world and I'm glad I can share her words.

Tesia, I would love to hear your story.
Tell us a bit about yourself,
•What are you nurturing right now?
My creative self and self love

What’s the biggest challenge in your life at the moment? Where are you making the most progress?
Opening up and being completely honest with myself, healing myself from the inside out.

Where do you get your inspiration?
In my art aspect, most of my inspiration comes from where I live, nature, the natural beauty of the plants, animals, and energies Hawaii has to offer.  Also traveling around the world.  As for self-healing and care, I have a few friends ahead of me that I look to for inspiration on health as well as mental and physical wellness. And for all of this, of course, social media.

What women inspire you the most?
The women that I choose to surround myself with,  and follow on social media, that are here to uplift and motivate other women in the dreams, goals, and aspirations.  Also my mom,  from a young age I saw the pain and heartache she went through when her and my dad got a divorce, but she always taught me to stay strong and not to be dependent because you never know what will happen
If you could talk to your 12-year-old self what would you tell her?
I would definitely tell her that's she's beautiful, and to keep creating, and to keep focused on what she loves that sets her soul on fire regardless of what people tell her she should do, and that she's so important

How do you feel most nurtured/ most loved?
When I'm loving myself, doing self-care rituals anywhere from baths and facemasks, being in nature,  to meditation.

What do you love most about yourself? How do you show your love for others?
I love that I am strongly connected to the earth, plants, and animals.  There are so many life lessons that they have to offer.
I show my love to others by cooking healthy meals for them, but also putting myself in their situations which helps me to understand and be there for them on a different level.

What can you not live without?
Family and friends who have been there for me through all my different stages.... and my fur baby even though I know I'll be here longer than him lol

In what areas do you SHINE?
I shine best when I'm painting or creating something with my hands, but most of all when I see how happy my art makes everyone who sees it.

What are 3 non-negotiable traits that you believe are important to see in people?
Honesty (with others and mostly themselves),  love and compassion for all living things, ambition.

The smartest decision you ever made:
To go part-time at my retail job in order to have more time to paint and focus on self-healing (also to leave a mentally and emotionally abusive 5-year relationship with my first boyfriend)

What are you most grateful for?
I'm grateful my mom brought me up strong-willed, even though I have so much personal healing to do emotionally and spiritually, she always taught me you can't give up and you need to stay strong

• If you had to describe yourself in 3 words, what would they be?
Artistic, caring, powerful

If you could change anything in the world, what would it be?
The way people treat themselves, if everyone treated themselves with love and respect, they'd much more treat the people around them with love and respect also.

What would you like to be known/remembered for? How do you share your magic to the world?
I would like to be known as an artist who shared her inner beauty with the world, and put a smile on everyone's face who saw my art.  We need more things that make us happy in the world!

Favourite space in nature? Are you a trees or a sea girl?
Lucky for me I live in Hawaii where I get BOTH.   There are times I get called to go to a healing, rejuvenating medicine waterfall, they have so much power, water running through our ancient mountains full of Hawaiian energy,  and sometimes I get called to the ocean with the sun and all the energies that come from all the creatures in the ocean like the whales and dolphins, and to feel the current that changes with the moon's energy.

What is your favourite plant/ tree?
I absolutely love Banyan trees!

What part of a plant are you most drawn to? Flowers? Seedpods? Foliage? Roots?
The roots, they remind you to stay grounded and to remember where you came from.

Why did you choose that plant?
Something about them feels so mighty and you can feel their knowledge, and all their roots and how they're deeply grounded to the earth.
